Yo! I'm DShain and am currently studying Studio Art at the University of Maine as a junior... where it is currently getting cold and I'm not wicked crazy about that!
Though all I really need is a pencil and paper, I also enjoy animation and sculpture. I enjoy drawing cartoon animal figures, but I've recently been wanting to expand my ability and really produce more variety and more complete works in semi-to-total realism. I also want to create greater impact by considering total composition!
Games are fun in moderation. I somewhat enjoyed playing sports (as bad at it as I was!).. though mostly floor hockey. Wish I still had that second-place medal my team won in middle school! I also play video and computer games here and there, such as Pokemon, Super Smash Brothers Brawl and of course World of Warcraft. The internet is a fun place to be in general! I'm also very into anime and manga, especially shounen series such as Hunter x Hunter.
In reality I tend to enjoy exploring. Even just small steps through wooded areas of Maine where the pine needles make up the forest floor. Ever you ever smelled it? It's actually very nice! Though sometimes things can get embarrassing, such as my crossing this frail ice and snow bridge and insisting to my friend that it would be FINE... and falling into the small stream below! I didn't even learn my lesson and repeated this recently when trying to cross a makeshift log bridge. Lost my cell phone that time!
I'll wrap it up by saying that happiness is one of the most important things to me. We've all got our dark backgrounds — and me too! I made an important change in myself just before my adventure into college started in 2010 which led to me feeling more control over the environment I was surrounded in. Ever since then, I've made an effort to always cut out the bad and leave more room for the good! Nothing is more valuable to me than that.
